Last Thursday was my weekly appointment to be on the fetal monitor and little Wyatt was one active little boy. He must be gearing up for an athletic career because he didn’t stop moving and his heart rate was upwards of 190 beats per minute and he just wouldn’t slow sown for almost an hour!
My doctor wanted me to stay on the monitor for the next four hours to be sure there weren’t any further concerns, so it was across the road to the hospital for me. I called Justin and asked him to get the “go” bag ready and head to Tifton just in case.
I checked in around 6:15 and was told I’d be out of there by 10:00 if everything went well. The sweet nurses got me situated and started the monitor. Almost immediately, my stubborn little boy’s heart rate registered at a steady 130-140, which is normal. He hardly moved out of that range for almost two hours and Dr. Asbury decided it was safe for me to head on home and he wasn’t coming right then.
I don’t know what got him so riled up, but it had me worried for just a bit! I’m so glad everything worked out.
After being released, we went home and immediately packed Wyatt’s things and installed the car seat. I guess it’s better to be over-prepared then caught off guard like we almost were!
